one word is relapse, not to be mistaken with relax, though recidivism is the same as falling back into old behaviors, as is relapse to falling off the wagon. If you have ever challenged yourself against chemicals, you learn that we are not so willing to leave our comfort zone. The phrase "easier said than done" is one truth that cannot be argued.

Non Progredi est regredi=not to prgress is to regress. Non sibi sed omnibus=not for self but for all.Tempora mutantur, et nos mutamur in illis=The times change and we change with them. Alter ego est amicus= A friend is ones second self. These sayings were as true when the Romans said them as they are now. then again it is also said that its easier to stop than staying stopped and that is true too for the most part :)
